THE INCREDIBLE STORY OF KFC

The only antidote to procrastination and failure is taking the right action at the right time. Today, I will briefly talk about a man named Colonel Sanders, who, despite his age, took the right action at the right time and built a chain of restaurants.

He once said, "There is no reason to be the richest man in the cemetery. You can't do any business there."

Harland Sanders was born just outside Henryville, Indiana. At age 10, Harland Sanders holds a variety of jobs including:
Farm hand, streetcar conductor, army private in Cuba, blacksmith's helper, railyard fireman, insurance salesman, tire salesman and service station operator for Standard Oil.

Colonel Sanders was 65 years old when he received his first social security cheque of $99. He was broke, and owned a small house and a beat up car.

He made a decision that he has got to change. The only idea he had was a chicken recipe, which his friends liked. With that idea in mind, he took massive action. He left his home in Kentucky and traveled to some states in the United States to sell his idea. He told the restaurant owners that he had a chicken recipe that people liked and he was giving it to them for free.

What he wanted in return was for the restaurant owners to pay him a small percentage on the pieces of chicken sold.
He got rejections after rejections, but did not give up. In fact, he got over 1000 rejections. He got 'NO' 1009 times before he got his first "YES."

Today, with just this one 'YES', Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the eating habits of the whole world with Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC.
Kentucky Fried Chicken has more than 600 franchised outlets in the United States, Canada and several overseas outlets in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

If you want to accomplish great things in 2015, you must take the right action now, not tomorrow. Remember, tomorrow is not in the calendar of champions; only fools have tomorrow in their calendar.

How many of us will keep knocking on doors when we have received 1000 rejections? I presume not many! This is why there are not many successes like Colonel Sanders.

Age is no barrier to success, and so is capital. What is needed is an idea put into action, followed with prosper planning and persistence. A single action can make you be the best in your industry this year. Discover what works and take the appropriate action.

Did you know what separates champions from winners? Yes, in a competition like football tournament, there are several winners, however, only one champion emerges at the end. A champion is an overall winner. If you want to accomplish great things this year, you must desire to be a champion.

I have distilled some 8 time-tested qualities of champions that can help you reach your potential and achieve new levels of success in 2015.

Remember, you're created to be a champion.  That's what "having dominion" means. Get these eight principles deep down on your inside and boldly go in the direction of your dream. It is in the following of your dream that your destiny finally crystallizes.

1. Maintain Your Vision - Dare to dream big dreams. Ask the Holy Spirit for direction and guidance. Don't be intimidated by the storms around you because they're seasonal and will not last forever.

2. Maintain Your Focus - What you don't focus on becomes blurred with time. Focus on your unique course and goals. Critically look at your resolutions for the year and pursue them with undiluted vigour.

3. Always Expect The Best - What you don't desire, you cannot attract. Anticipate great opportunities. Key into the promises of God and claim them. Beyond claiming them, take reasonable action to actualize them.

4. Have a Positive Mind-Set - Take control of your thoughts and attitudes. Let the mind of Christ always be in you. Use the Word of God to counter every negative suggestions from the devil.

5. Commit to Excellence - Do your best and maintain high standards. You cannot remain in the game of success without demonstrating excellence. Excellence takes you to the top of every career.

6. Keep Growing - Be proactive, be intentional, build on your gifts, and continually improve. Study the Bible and other relevant books.

7. Serve Others - Invest yourself in others. Do good to people you meet even when it is not convenient.

8. Stay Passionate - Light the fire within and approach life with unalloyed enthusiasm.

INGRATITUDE ABORTS SUCCESS

Hold your breath for a moment until you're about to be choked. How did you feel? Terrible, I believe. That's what it takes for God to sustain you. He supplies free pure oxygen to keep you alive; you don't have to queue up in a gas station for a refill.

I just stumbled on a terrifying truth few hours ago. Did you know that any time you sleep, your chances of waking up is a 50-50 probability? You may end up not waking up after a good sleep. However, you're alive that's why you can read this piece.

No ungrateful man can have an enduring success. That's the number one reason the songwriter wrote, "Count your blessings..."
Once you realize there are several blessings in your life you've always taken for granted, you'll be spurred to thank God on a daily basis.
